The Gardeners’ House, the Charity leading on the construction of a multi-million-pound archive and green community hub in Penzance, is looking for three consultants to join their team as the project enters its delivery phase.
The current team, who successfully secured over £3 million in grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Penzance Town Deal earlier this year, seeks the expertise of three consultants in Marketing and Communications, Fundraising and Project Evaluation to help them deliver on their vision for the site.
The Gardeners’ House project will restore and extend a dilapidated 19th century and former stables block at the heart of the Morrab Gardens to create a permanent home for their collection of Cornwall’s Natural heritage alongside a new sensory community garden.
With the construction of the new building expected to start in October, the team is currently working with members of the local community and the Sensory Trust on the design of the new sensory and wellbeing gardens which will be adjacent to the new built and neighbouring Pengarth Day Centre.

Our small team and our dedicated board of volunteers have worked hard to reach this point. Now we need to bring some experts in Marketing and Communications, Fundraising and Project Evaluation to join us and help us achieve our vision. Once fully restored, Gardeners’ House will provide a home to their 200 year old collection. It will also grow a ‘living archive’ enabling the community to record and add to the existing collection, whilst delivering a green hub for the town, offices for Sustainable Penzance, Gardeners’ house staff and the Friends of Morrab Gardens.
The Gardeners’ House CIO is a registered charitable organisation formed in 2021 for the development and subsequent operation of The Gardeners’ House. This project, supported by Penzance Towns Fund and Cornwall Council received £2.2 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and £885,000 from the Government’s Town Deal Fund.
